Matthew Gustafson is President of JM Commercial Holdings, LLC. He has been involved in all aspects of commercial land development and acquisitions for the past 15 years. Matt is responsible for oversight of the company’s corporate operations, as well as providing strategic direction and implementation for JM Commercial Holdings, LLC.
Day-to-day responsibilities include the development and implementation of the JMCH strategic business plan, new business development, client relationship management, and property review and performance.
JM Commercial Holdings, LLC, over the past 8 years, has developed and acquired a portfolio of diverse assets which include: Multifamily, Commercial, Gas Stations, Storage Facilities and land subdivisions.
In 2018, JM Commercial Holdings, LLC has 4 active projects being developed, valued at $23 million. Once complete, JM Commercial Holdings, LLC will have assets owned and managed valued at $42.5 million.
Prior to starting JM Commercial Holdings, LLC with his business partner, Jason Fielder, in 2011, Matt worked with one of the largest homebuilders in the state of Iowa – Regency Homes. Matt worked as a project engineer/manager for their Master Craft Homes division. He was responsible for all aspects of custom home design and implementation. With his help, he and his team increased production of Master Craft Homes year over year.
Matt has co-founded Energy Masters Commercial, LLC, JM Sioux City Holdings, LLC, JM Equity Holdings, LLC, JM Commercial Holdings, LLC and Westside Land Development Co.
Jason Fielder is a partner and CEO of JM Commercial Holdings, LLC, in Waukee, Iowa, where he is responsible for short- and long-range planning for the company.
Jason has a keen eye for opportunities, and a desire to bring great value to thriving communities through prudent and sensible investments. Jason served his country in the Iowa Army National Guard for six years, which enhanced the strong values and discipline he learned growing up in small-town Iowa. Following Jason’s enlistment and college, those values and his entrepreneurial spirit advanced him quickly in the mortgage and real estate industry.
In 2007, Jason formed a partnership with Matthew Gustafson and built a successful energy efficiency business in a niche market where he saw a need. Together, they designed an unbeatable business plan that benefited energy companies and customers alike.
Jason is a strong believer that diversity and leverage in business are keys to success. He co-founded Energy Masters Commercial, LLC, JM Sioux City Holdings, JM Equity Holdings, JM Commercial Holdings and Westside Land Development Co. Jason is a member of AESP, MEEA, and the Des Moines Flying Club. In his off time, Jason coaches football, baseball and basketball in the Waukee School District.
With a Master’s degree in Accounting and CPA, Drew serves as the Finance Director for JM Commercial Holdings. Drew joined the JM Commercial team in 2016, bringing to the table several years’ experience in real estate and financial advising. He has been instrumental in assisting with strategic planning and growth as JM Commercial has expanded its footprint into other geographic locations.
Drew’s vast knowledge of 1031 Exchanges, tax planning and financing makes him a valuable asset in all of JM Commercial’s projects and ventures. In his past experiences, Drew has worked with some of Iowa’s largest developers and homebuilders, as well as one of the nation’s largest homebuilders. He takes a long-term vision and breaks it down into achievable short-term goals, while maximizing efficiency and profitability through strategic financing and tax structures. In addition to ensuring the financial efficiency of JM Commercial Holdings, LLC, Drew also focuses on ensuring that the business owners themselves, or external project partners, also maximize their profit efficiency through proactive tax planning. Drew’s career has been centered around providing value for privately held companies and their shareholders.
Kim Spencer KlinePROJECT COORDINATOR
Kim Spencer Kline is a vital member of the JM Commercial team, bringing a wide variety of skills and experience to the table. Kim adds value through her positive attitude and eagerness to take on responsibilities throughout the organization and beyond.
She handles all office responsibilities, coordinates with all involved parties throughout every project, handles scheduling, and keeps everything and everyone organized. Kim’s experience encompasses the construction industry, real estate investment, office management, project coordination, public relations, and research. Prior to becoming part of the JM Commercial team, Kim successfully managed four of her own independent contractor businesses for many years.
Outside of the office, Kim volunteers her organizational skills to a start-up software company, and to Respite Connection of Iowa, assisting with activities for people with disabilities.
